Everyone, it’s such nice weather, isn’t it? Yesterday was quite hot. I wonder if this scorching heat will continue through the year, just like last year. When we start imagining what lies ahead, it can feel quite depressing.
The recent heatwave has been rising rapidly, like a steep climb. For those born in the Showa era, this kind of unbearable heat is hard to imagine. Sixty years ago, exceeding 30゜C in summer was considered very hot, and people would cry, ‘Wow, today is really hot!’ People used fans and hand-held fans to cope back then.
How are things now? They can’t imagine living without air conditioning. The situation has become so abnormal that heatstroke is a real risk. Not long ago, people didn’t even talk about that. Back then, summer temperatures were around 30゜C, and in autumn and winter, it would snow frequently even in the Tokyo area.
It was much colder than it is now. The phrase ‘warm winter’ has only become common recently.
Ladies and gentlemen, do you understand what I am about to say?
I want people to realize why this heatwave is happening and to consider that something abnormal might be occurring on Earth.
Since the Earth’s environment has been severely disrupted, Japan’s seasons may disappear in the future due to rising temperatures. The extreme heatwave this summer is a warning from the Earth, signaling that if the heat keeps rising, it will become increasingly difficult for humans to survive. This is the planet’s way of sending an urgent alert.
If humans find it difficult to survive, then all life on Earth—plants and animals—is at risk. We must act immediately to stop this rise in temperature. Taking serious action against global warming is crucial. Otherwise, we won’t be able to enjoy good food, attend top schools, get good jobs, or live a prosperous life.
Leisure is now just a distant dream. If global warming continues, the environment will become unsuitable for growing food. People around the world will suffer from hunger. The electricity used for air conditioning to cope with extreme heat, as well as underground resources, are running out. Please feel the urgency of this crisis.
Every individual on this planet must seriously consider escaping the crisis. There’s no time to be carefree and talk about war. Every day, I desperately pray that we can somehow prevent this abnormal situation on Earth, and I hope everyone will become aware of the urgency.
In the interest of humanity’s peace, I will share this message with everyone on earth. Hands joined in respect.
